Maralee Joyner (they/she) is a dancer, performer, and interdisciplinary artist living and working on the unceded, ancestral, and occupied, traditional lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), and Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) Nations of the Coast Salish peoples, known as Vancouver, British Columbia. Maralee is currently pursuing a BFA in dance from Simon Fraser University, and anticipates graduating in the spring of 2026.

With additional roots in Durham, North Carolina and Athens, Ohio, Maralee has a diverse background of training. She has trained at the American Dance Festival, Ohio University, Ponderosa Tanzland (Stolzenhagen, Germany), Gibney Dance Center, Bates Dance Festival, and Bearnstow. Maralee’s work has been most significantly influenced by mentors Kelly Hurlburt, Claire Porter, Bebe Miller, Justine A Chambers, and Rob Kitsos.

Maralee's latest choreographic projects include a funeral (2024), Bet (2024), and JAM PACKED! (2024). They have also recently performed in works by Kelly Hurlburt, Amy Miller, and Katherine G. Moore.

Collaboration is at the heart of Maralee’s artistic practice. Their long-time collaboration with Milo Harper (London) has resulted in the creation of evening length works HONE (2023) and JAM PACKED! (2024). Maralee also collaborated on Jo Rollins’ project Transitive Property (2024), a performance piece that included dancers, musicians, and visual artists.
